Her story is remarkable when you consider how far she has come (both geographically and professionally) and where she is today as a valued member of the MSB team. This year she was nominated as the “ambassadrice de la Chine a Bordeaux” which comes on the back of her induction into the Hospitalier de Pomerol last year. A few weeks ago she hosted our new China Club concept with E&Y having succeeded in inviting the Chinese Ambassador to France down from Paris to join us for the event. Oh – and did I mention, she sings too so she also provided the entertainment for the evening with her Bordeaux based band.
Although born in Chengdu, China 30 years ago it was not until 2009 that she arrived in Bordeaux as a student at the University of Bordeaux. Following a Masters in Wine at INSEEC she joined the MSB team in 2012 and is one of two vineyard expert Chinese professionals in the Bordeaux vineyard industry along with Lei Zhao at Ernst & Young, the due diligence and accounting experts.
Lily speaks English, French and of course Mandarin fluently, but her skills far surpass just linguistics. Her working knowledge of the Bordeaux vineyard market, her intimate understanding of French culture and her remarkable skills at networking have put her in the centre of one of France’s most important industries.
